A Professor of Economics and Director of Academic Planning, Caleb University Imota, Lagos, Prof. Olumuyiwa Owolabi Olamade, will on Thursday 15th June 2023, present the Institution’s 5th Inaugural Lecture Series, titled ‘Manufacturing Prosperity and Services of the Future: Re-igniting Nigeria’s Engine of Growth’.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Nosa Owens-Ibie, who Chairs the event , “with a growing number of distinguished professors emerging from the unique Caleb University crucible, we are commencing with Prof Olumuyiwa Olamade’s deep and stylishly introduced Inaugural Lecture, a series of impactful lectures which would be speaking to the nuances of the Nigerian and global knowledge industry”.
Prof Olamade, the Inaugural Lecturer, who doubles as the Institution’s Dean of Students, is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the United Kingdom. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in International Economics with a distinction, from the University of Ibadan.
The technology puzzle in international trade aroused his insatiable interest in Technology Management, which culminated in his second Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Technology & Industrialization , and Technology Management, as well as a Doctorate (PhD) in Technology Management from Obafemi Awolowo University in 2007.
He has held numerous administrative positions in his over two decades of teaching and research at various universities and a public research institute; each contributing to the development of a well-rounded researcher and administrator.
The Remo Ijebu, Ogun State born Scholar’s research interest in Nigerian Structural Macroeconomics, focuses mainly on the manufacturing sector, as a source of capital accumulation, technological learning, development, and economic growth.
The 5th Inaugural Lecture Series is another evidence of the significant strides in the development of the University.
