American airline, Delta has announced it is suspending flights from JFK airport in New York to Lagos, Nigeria. According to the airline, “the current demand environment” necessitated the decision.
What Delta Airline is saying:
- Delta Airline is saying that the suspension will take effect from October 4, 2022. This means that until then, the airline would lift travelers booked to the flight.
- The airline will continue to operate service between Lagos and Atlanta and offers onward connections to New York and other cities across the United States
- Delta airlines will bear the responsibility to re-accommodate travelers already booked on the suspended flight.
- The decision to suspend the flight comes eight months after the airline announced its re-entry into the Nigerian travel industry
