Mobihealth founder completes NASDAQ entrepreneurship programme

The founder of Nigerian health technology company, Mobihealth, Dr Funmi Adewara, was among top global entrepreneurs who had completed the NASDAQ Entrepreneurship Centre’s Milestone Makers programme.

According to a release for Mobihealth, Adewara was one of the all-female entrepreneur cohorts of the recently concluded summer programme of NASDAQ and was promoted at the New York Times Square.

The promotion was in commemoration of the selected participants meeting their predetermined milestones.

Speaking on the development,  Adewara said, “My team and I feel honoured to be recognised for the prestigious programme and remain excited about the impact of our work and what the future holds.

“I am deeply grateful to all those who support and continue to promote us. Winning for us means seamless access to quality healthcare for everyone regardless of their status.”

Adewara’s coach and speaker, Phyllis Sarkaria, in her reaction, said, “I feel honoured to have had the opportunity to work with Funmi. She has done incredibly well with her innovation, with a very clear vision, and business model with great potential to transform healthcare in Africa. Funmi deserves every good success and I’m looking forward to celebrating her again. She is incredible.”

The NASDAQ’s Milestone Makers was launched in 2016.

It selects a small cohort of entrepreneurs to receive individualised business mentoring, coaching, training, and resources at no cost.

The goal is to help entrepreneurs set, hit, and celebrate milestones critical to company growth. Participants are matched with coaches and mentors who are leaders in their industry and given access to customized resources that meet each founder’s needs.
