Owning a house in Lagos is the dream of many, especially having one in a prime area like FESTAC Town. In their bids to acquire a land to build their dream houses, many buyers have become victims of fraud perpetrated by dishonest land speculators.
According to the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), the ‘bad guys’ are up to new tricks aimed at swindling unsuspecting members of the public.
Consumertrics gathers some fraudulent persons impersonating the FHA are advertising land sale in FESTAC Town.
Kenneth Chigelu, FHA’s spokesperson, dismisses the phoney adverts as the handiwork of imposters.
“Our attention has been drawn to the activities of unscrupulous persons claiming to be agents of the FHA for the sale of land in FESTAC Town,” Chigelu said.
“Those putting up such advertisements are mere impostors.
“The said advertisement is a scam.”
