Electricity consumers being covered by Ikeja Electric can now recharge their energy credits. The power distribution company had last week announced it would be upgrading its Customer Information System to enable it deliver better services to consumers.
As a result, the company was unable to attend to customer accounts enquiries while its vending and information portals were equally inactive.
Being the largest power distribution network in Nigeria, several consumers were affected. Customers who ran out of energy credits endured being without power supply.
Although, customers can now recharge, those having complaints regarding billing and account management might experience delay in getting them resolved.
According to Ikeja Electric, it anticipates a backlog – due to it shutting down its portal during the period of the upgrading.
The company in a recent response said it would therefore deal with customers complaints “on a first come, first serve basis”.
