Orange makes move to enter Nigeria’s telecom market

Orange Group, a French telecom network provider, has begun talks with the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) on its planned entry into the country’s market.

The service provider is reputedly the biggest in France. Its proposed offering to the Nigeria’s mobile consumers span mobile, data, fixed and financial technology support services.

Mrs. Victoria Adefala, led five other executives of the Orange Group for Middle East and Africa to the meeting with Umar Danbatta, the executive vice chairman of the NCC.

“We are here to ensure steady investment for a long term. We also want to support the vision of the Commission in driving broadband penetration for a robust digital economy and leverage on local content development initiatives,” Adefila was quoted as saying.
